2013 First Tech Challenge Robot

This Robot was Designed for Quick Pickup and Dispensing of Blocks

 

Two Stage lift allows the robot to reach any of the pendulum goals even when they are tilted to their highest position.

The lift mechanism can pulls up and down with a single motor. Also a 3:4 gearing with a worm gear allows the robot to hold its position when lifting at the end of the match. A zip tie allows for the strings to be tightened.

 

Mecanum drive mechanism allows the robot to move in almost any direction. 1:1 gearing on all 4 motors gives the robot plenty of power to push through anything.

A group of six ultrasonic sensors connected to a parallax propeller chip and the HiTcechnic Protoboard interface with the NXT to provide plenty of sensing power.
